A UK-based independent worldwide fellowship
Founded in 2014, Global Century Press (GCP), is the publishing arm of the Global China Academy in the UK. It focuses on China studies in the social sciences and humanities, with an emphasis on global and comparative perspectives. GCP is the first publisher dedicated to bilingual publishing in English and Chinese. Its publications include academic journals, monographs, conference proceedings, textbooks, and reference books, available in print, digital, audio, video, and mobile formats. GCP is a member of The Association of Learned and Professional Society Publishers (ALPSP) and Crossref, and assigns DOIs to all its publications to ensure global discoverability, citability, and long-term preservation.
GCP publishes three unique academic journals: Journal of China in Global and Comparative Perspectives (English edition), Journal of Chinese for Social Science (Chinese edition), Journal of Corpus Approaches to Chinese Social Science (Chinese and English editions), as well as the Global China Dialogue Proceedings series (English and Chinese editions).

Submission Types: Research articles, Research reports, Commentaries, Proposals for symposia on specific themes, In-depth review articles, Book reviews that offer significant insights into China’s global and comparative study.
Special Issue Themes: We are particularly interested in proposals for special issues focusing on targeted themes. Please share your suggestions for themes that resonate with our journals’ objectives and could foster scholarly discussion.
Peer review: All submitted articles will undergo anonymous peer review before publication in one of our academic journals. We warmly welcome invited reviewers to evaluate these manuscripts. Reviewers are kindly asked to complete the online Peer Review Form, preferably within one month of receiving the invitation. If preferred, the form can also be downloaded HERE and returned as an email attachment.
Open Access: GCP is recognized as a leading publisher worldwide, providing Open Access to book chapters, each assigned a DOI number. Our open access policy ensures that a substantial portion of our content (80%) is freely available, promoting the spread of knowledge.
House Style Guide: In addition to following APA 7th edition rules, GCP has developed its own style guidelines to support dual language publishing in English and Chinese. These can be found in GCP’s House Style Guide, which gives practical instructions for authors.

Dual language: GCP publishes social scientific and humanities academic and popular books bilingually. Some books have both English and Chinese editions, and other books have only an English or a Chinese edition. GCP provides English and Chinese dual language information in all journals and books. In the case of an English book, the Chinese part of the dual language information is designed to assist Chinese readers. Similarly, two of the journals are in Chinese, and the English part of the dual language information includes material to help non-Chinese speakers appreciate the endeavours in this field outside the English-speaking world.
