Dr Gavin Brookes 加文·布鲁克斯博士 is a Reader and UKRI Future Leader Fellow in the Department of Linguistics and English Language at Lancaster University, UK. His research involves the use of different approaches to discourse analysis in order to examine how people and institutions use language to mediate and construct the social world. Gavin is Associate Editor of the International Journal of Corpus Linguistics (John Benjamins) and Co-Editor of Cambridge Elements in Critical Discourse Studies (Cambridge University Press) and the Corpus and Discourse book series (Bloomsbury). He is also an Executive Editor of the Journal of Corpus Approaches to Chinese Social Science (Global Century Press).
